When we decided to add 10 things to do on a La Manga Club holiday on our website, the challenge wasn’t what to include, it was what to leave out! There really is no end of things to do on a La Manga Club holiday, but here’s our top ten:
1. Play Tennis
Of course you’re on this site because you’re a tennis fan; that goes without saying. But if you’re venturing into the notion of playing tennis at La Manga for the first time, you mightn’t realise the true glory of what’s ahead of you. Hailed by many amateurs and pros alike as the jewel in the Spanish crown when it comes to tennis, La Manga boasts no less than 28 courts, of which 20 are clay, four are hard courts and four artificial grass. Thirteen of the courts are floodlit and there’s an impressive, all-round tennis service available.
2. Take up a New Sport
At La Manga there’s a whole host of different sports available, including golf, football, tennis, cricket, rugby, diving and snorkelling, horse-riding, road and mountain biking, Gaelic football, lacrosse, netball, and of course walking and running as well as a whole host of fitness classes. No matter whether you’re already accomplished in one of these sporting domains or you’re a complete beginner, there are all the facilities and support you could dream of to get you where you want to be in this sporting heaven.
3. Go to the Beach
Summer or winter, the beaches in this neck of the woods are inviting and warm. Granted, you probably won’t go for a swim or seek a sun lounger in December, but you can be sure to enjoy a pleasant walk and some rays of sunshine, even in the deepest of winter. Beaches abound here, and the resort of La Manga Club has its very own serviced beach with a stunning restaurant if you’re coming in-season. The lifeguards, showers and already set up sun beds will have you coming back for more, day in day out.
4. Explore the Calblanque National Park
The Calblanque National Park, which is right on the doorstep of La Manga, offers a host of outdoors sporting and leisure facilities. Everything from quad biking to horse riding and hiking to cycling is made even more exciting and enjoyable in this beautiful and peaceful part of the world.
5. Eat, Drink and be Merry
Although most people who come on a La Manga Club holiday are attracted by the superb sporting facilities, there’s no getting away from the fact that the majority of those people also enjoy a good time while they’re there. The many restaurants and bars in the locality play an extremely important part in this good time, and even the fussiest of food lovers will find a restaurant solution to fit their requirements. Add to this, the variety of bars; from sports bars to tapas bars and you can be sure that when you want to eat, drink and be merry at La Manga, you’ll have plenty of choice.
6. Relax
Tennis might be your main focus, but at the same time, life at home is hectic and non-stop, so it’s a good idea to take time to relax while you’re there. Whether you choose to relax over a good book and a coffee in your villa, or a bottle of wine in the bar is up to you, but either way, you’ll find ‘chilling’ here comes very easily. And for those of you who need a bit of help to relax, there’s the Spa, where there are no end of treatments available, so you really don’t have any excuses not to completely switch off here.
7. Play golf
Although the tennis centre at La Manga Club is huge, the golf is arguably as impressive. Add to the three championship courses, the range of Golf Academies for players of all ages and standards and it becomes clear why this is the spot that people choose to either raise their game to a new standard, or to take up the game in style. The golf courses at La Manga are open all year round and are a relaxed and friendly way to either improve your game or get initiated in this popular sport.
8.Walk Yourself Fit
If you fancy getting fit, but want to do so in a steady and supportive environment, then the Joanna Hall Walkactive training camps might be of interest to you. No matter if you’re coming to accompany your tennis partner or if you’d like to combine walkactive with your own tennis programme, you’ll find this a great way to get in shape.
9. Enjoy a Fitness Class
If you have something more intense in mind, the range of fitness classes available on a La Manga Club holiday will blow you away. Everything from ciclo-spinning, cardio tonic, aerobics, GAB, step, total pump and Pilates will get your heart rate pumping and your pulse racing. No matter whether you want to raise your game by improving your fitness or you simply want to go home a few kilos lighter than you arrived, you’ll be impresses by what’s on offer.
10. Explore the Surrounding Area
The whole area around La Manga is beautiful, sunny and filled with places of interest … that is … if you can drag yourself away from the resort itself! If you’re reading this and thinking “this is where I want to go”, but you have questions, who not get in touch. We are here and ready to take your call and ensure your La Manga Club holiday is an unforgettable one.
